1. What Matchifier Is

Matchifier is a recommendation platform designed to help couples choose what to watch together.

We combine both partners' movie preferences, feedback, and mood to suggest recommendations that work for both, saving time and avoiding arguments.

Matchifier is a decision-support tool, not a streaming service. We don't host movies or guarantee availability on specific platforms.

2. Eligibility

To use Matchifier, you must:

• Be at least 16 years old
• Provide a valid email address
• Use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes

3. Accounts & Pairing

Your Account

• You are responsible for keeping your login information secure
• Each person must have their own account
• You must provide accurate information

Pairing with a Partner

• Pairing is done by linking two accounts
• Once paired, some data (favorites, ratings, credits) is shared within the couple profile
• You can only be paired with one partner at a time
• If a couple unpairs, shared recommendation data may be reset

4. Free & VIP Plans

Standard (Free) Plan

• 1 recommendation generation per week
• Mood selection included
• Watchlist and watched history
• Limited credits

VIP Plan

• €2.49 per couple per month (price may vary in the future)
• Unlimited recommendations
• Unlimited credits
• Faster and deeper personalization
• Shared VIP status within the couple

When one partner upgrades to VIP, the couple profile becomes VIP. Credits are shared and unified.

5. Payments & Subscriptions

• Payments are handled securely by third-party providers (for example, Stripe or PayPal)
• Matchifier does not store payment details
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled
• You can cancel anytime, access remains until the end of the billing period
• Refunds are not guaranteed for partial months unless required by local law

6. Credits & Rewards

• Credits are used to generate recommendations
• Referral rewards and promo codes grant extra credits
• Abuse of referral systems (fake accounts, self-referrals) may result in removal of credits or account suspension
• Credits have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash

7. User Content & Feedback

You own the data you provide:

• Movie selections
• Ratings
• Feedback

By using Matchifier, you grant us permission to use this data solely to improve recommendations within the app.

We do not sell or license your data to third parties.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Matchifier for illegal purposes
• Attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the system
• Abuse, harass, or impersonate others
• Automate or scrape the platform

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

9. Availability & Accuracy

• We do not guarantee you will like every recommendation
• Mood, tastes, and preferences change, results may vary
• We are not responsible for disappointment with a chosen movie

10. Service Changes & Availability

We may:

• Update features
• Add or remove functionality
• Temporarily suspend the service for maintenance

We'll always try to keep disruptions minimal.

11. Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these terms
• Abuse the service
• Attempt fraud or manipulation

Upon deletion, your personal data is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Matchifier is provided "as is"
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages
• We are not responsible for third-party services (streaming platforms, payment processors)

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and applicable local regulations.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are significant, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of Matchifier means acceptance of the updated Terms.
